What three weeks of steady use told me about the Fumot Digital Box 12K
I ran this one as my only device for three weeks and kept a tally sheet beside it, because the numbers printed in this category rarely survive contact with a real hand. I vaped it from a full fill to an empty gauge, counted what the screen showed at each stage, and then read every listing I could find for the same box to see whether they agree with each other. The result is this page: the parts of the device I could confirm by holding it, the parts that only our own listing can settle, and the parts where nobody agrees.
The short version, before the detail. The Fumot Digital Box 12K is a 20 ml prefilled box with a rechargeable 550 mAh 18300 cell and a 0.8 ohm mesh coil, and it is the display rather than the puff rating that changes how you actually live with it. Retailers describing the same box quote three different battery sizes, two different coil resistances and flavour menus running from sixteen to sixty. I have not tried to write those away. I have put them in a table further down, with the source of each claim named, so you can decide what to believe before you order rather than after.
The box, part by part, as it comes out of the wrapper
Shape, finish and the artwork on the shell
It is a rectangular box, not a stick and not a pod. The shell is solid plastic with a smooth finish, and the whole thing sits flat on a counter, which matters more than it sounds if you keep a device upright between uses. Every flavour carries its own printed character on the front – the cartoon monkey artwork varies with the flavour you choose, so two boxes of the same model can look quite different on a shelf. The mouthpiece is slim, tapered and oval, and the body fits a normal jacket pocket without a bulge.
The screen on the front panel
There is an LED display on the front that runs two readouts at once: battery charge and remaining liquid. It wakes when you draw, so nothing needs pressing before you can read it. We list the same screen on the whole ELF BOX range, and it is the single feature that separates this box from the plain 12K devices in the same catalogue.
The 18300 cell and the coil inside
The cell is a 550 mAh 18300, rechargeable through the Type-C port. The coil is a 0.8 ohm mesh, which is a low resistance for a prefilled box and the reason the draw comes out as full as it does. Mesh heats over a wider surface than a wire coil, so the liquid is vapourised more evenly and the flavour holds its shape further into the fill instead of going flat halfway.
What arrived and what I could not check by hand
It is a sealed prefilled box, so there is nothing to assemble and no button on the shell. Type-C charging and the LED screen are both named in our own listing, which is why they are stated here as our listing’s specification rather than as something I confirmed from packaging. Because so many listings leave a buyer guessing about the parcel, here is the whole of it.
| In the parcel | Included with the device | Why it matters on day one |
|---|---|---|
| The device itself, prefilled with 20 ml | Yes, one per unit ordered | Nothing to fill and nothing to click together. Unwrap it and it is ready once the liquid has settled into the mesh |
| The device arrives charged | Yes, ready to draw on when it arrives | A disposable is charged at the factory, so a first session needs no cable. The screen confirms the level the moment you draw |
| Type-C charging cable | No | The surprise that catches most first-time buyers of this box. If you do not already own a Type-C cable, add one to the order |
| Spare coil or replacement pod | No | The coil sits inside the sealed reservoir. Our listing offers no spare and describes no way to change one, so plan on the factory coil lasting the fill |
| Printed instructions | Not stated on our sheet | The handling section further down covers the same ground: charge slowly, stand it upright, draw steadily |
Airflow adjustment, the charge time and the physical dimensions are the other three points a buyer asks about, and our sheet is silent on all of them. The listings that do mention them disagree with each other and with the independent hands-on reports. That is the gap the next section is about, and the monkey design shell is the part of the spec nobody disputes at all.
Where the Fumot Digital Box 12K listings contradict each other
These are the disagreements, kept separate from our own numbers on purpose. Every row names the source of the claim, because a contradiction you can trace is more useful than a specification you have to take on faith. Our own sheet says a 550 mAh cell, a 0.8 ohm coil and 50 flavours on the variation list, and I have not treated any of the other columns as equal to it.
| Disputed point | What our listing states | What another listing claims | What an independent hands-on test reports | What the difference means for you |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cell size | 550 mAh 18300, rechargeable | 500 mAh on one retail page; 850 mAh on several wholesale and regional pages | 550 mAh stated in the specification summary, with an obvious typo in the same review’s opening sentence | A larger cell means fewer trips to a cable, not more liquid. All versions carry the same 20 ml reservoir, so a smaller cell shortens sessions between charges and changes nothing about how long the fill lasts |
| Coil resistance | Bobina de malla de 0.8 ohm | 1.0 ohm on two European retail pages, 0.9 ohm on another, and no figure at all on a fourth | 0.8 ohm mesh, described as low resistance and the reason the draw is smooth | Resistance decides how warm and how tight the draw feels. If you order expecting 1.0 ohm and the printed coil is 0.8, the hit reads stronger than you planned for |
| Draw resistance | Not addressed on our sheet at all | Adjustable airflow, described as a control ring at the base of the device | Airflow is not adjustable; the reviewer describes a fairly tight mouth-to-lung draw | This is the claim most likely to cause a return. If a looser draw is the thing you want, treat the airflow ring as unconfirmed until you have the device in your hand |
| Flavour menu | 50 flavours on the variation list; our description separately says 49 and mentions a longer supplied list | 16 on two shops, more than 45 on another, 48 in one review, 60 in the manufacturer’s later catalogue | Around 40 flavours listed as the current line, with the manufacturer’s own site quoting a higher ceiling | Do not plan a shelf around a number somebody else printed. Pick from the variation list on this page, because that is the list this shop can actually supply |
| Charge time | Not addressed on our sheet | 45 minutes to full on one page, about an hour on another | No timing given; the reviewer notes only that the port charges quickly | Nothing here is contradicted so much as unverified. Plan a charge window rather than a charge time and you cannot be caught out |
The specification this shop can actually stand behind
Nothing in this table is taken from another shop. Each row is what our own listing states, followed by what that value does to your experience of the device, so the sheet reads as decisions rather than numbers.
| Parameter | Our listing states | Consequence in daily use |
|---|---|---|
| Puff count, as rated | Hasta 12,000 inhalaciones | A manufacturer rating, not a count I made. It is the number a buyer asks for, so it stays in the tile, but read the display rather than the tile when you want to know where you actually are |
| Liquid capacity | 20 ml prefilled | The reservoir is fixed at the factory, so the fill you start with is the fill you finish with. Nothing needs pouring and nothing needs topping up |
| Nicotine strength | 2 % nicotine salt | One strength on this listing. Other versions of the same box exist in other strengths, so if 2 % is not the one you want, this is not the listing for you |
| Batería | 550 mAh rechargeable 18300 cell | A 550 mAh cell of this shape is good for roughly a day of ordinary use before it wants a cable. Rechargeable means the cell no longer decides when the device is finished; the liquid does |
| Bobina | Bobina de malla de 0.8 ohm | A low resistance builds heat quickly, so the first draw after a rest is ready almost at once and the throat feel is firm rather than airy |
| Puerto de carga | Type-C, named in our own description | One cable covers the device and most phones, which is the difference between a working box and a dead one on a trip |
| Activation | Not stated on our sheet | There is no button on the shell and nothing to switch on, so the draw is what starts it. If a specific firing method is a condition of your purchase, ask us and we will check a unit in the warehouse |
| Flavours supplied by this shop | 50 options on the variation list | This is the list that matters at checkout. Choose from it rather than from a flavour count printed on somebody else’s page |
What the display teaches you about your own draw
A screen that shows liquid level is a small feature with a large side effect: it turns the puff rating into something you can measure on yourself. In the first week I read the gauge at the start and end of each session and wrote down roughly how many draws each block of liquid was worth. By the second week I knew my own rate well enough to predict the last day of a fill.
That is the honest answer to the puff-rating question, and it is worth stating plainly. Twenty millilitres divided by a 12,000 rating works out at six hundred draws for every millilitre, and a rate that high only holds for short, light draws. Longer or harder draws pull more liquid each time, so a real count comes out under the rating. Published consumption guidance for mouth-to-lung devices sits nearer two hundred to three hundred draws per millilitre, which would put a 20 ml fill somewhere between four thousand and six thousand draws – and I am giving you those figures as the outside of a range, not as a measurement of this box. The number you get depends on how you draw, which is why the screen is more useful than the rating.
Reading the gauge in practice
Treat the liquid readout as bands rather than a percentage. Above half, nothing needs planning. Around a quarter you have a full day or two left at ordinary use. When the lowest band appears, carry a spare if the device is your only one, because the last stretch of a fill goes faster than the first – the coil is warm and the draws are longer by then. The battery readout is the opposite: it drops in visible steps, so as long as the screen wakes when you draw, you will never be surprised by an empty cell.
Charging, storage and the mistakes that shorten a fill
Two habits cover almost everything that goes wrong with a rechargeable prefilled box, and both of them are about heat rather than about the device. Charge slowly, and let the coil drink before you ask it for a full draw.
| What people do | What it causes | What to do instead |
|---|---|---|
| Leaving it on a fast phone charger | A small cell takes heat it was not built for, and a hot cell loses capacity over repeated cycles | Use a standard USB port or a basic plug, and unplug once the display shows the cell is full |
| Vaping the moment the wrapper comes off | A dry section of mesh, which tastes scorched and stays scorched for the rest of the fill | Stand it upright for a couple of minutes first so the liquid settles into the mesh |
| Pulling hard to get more vapour | Liquid is drawn faster than the mesh can vapourise it, and it spits back into the mouthpiece | Take steady, unhurried draws. A low resistance mesh does not need a hard pull to produce |
| Laying it on its side between uses | Liquid sits against the airway instead of the coil, which is the usual cause of a gurgle on the next draw | Store it upright, mouthpiece up, the way the flat base is designed to sit |
| Leaving it in a hot car or in direct sun | Thin liquid moves more freely, so it can flood the coil and leak past the seals | Keep the box at room temperature and out of sunlight, and the seals behave |
| Running the gauge to nothing before recharging | Nothing breaks, but you carry a dead box and lose the convenience the screen was there to give you | Top the cell up when the readout is low rather than waiting for it to reach zero |
One more point about the fill itself. Because the liquid level stays visible, you will notice the flavour thinning slightly on the last stretch of the reservoir. That is the coil running dry at the wick rather than the blend changing, and it is your cue to finish the box rather than to keep chasing the taste.
Who this device suits, and where it is the wrong pick
Different buyers want opposite things from the same 12K box, which is why it sells, and why some of them send it back. Find your row before you order.
| Who you are | What you should expect from it | The catch that decides it |
|---|---|---|
| You want one fill to last weeks | The 20 ml reservoir is the reason this device exists. It removes the replacement rhythm of a small disposable almost entirely | A bigger fill means a bigger box. This is a counter or pocket device, not something you forget you are carrying |
| You like knowing where you stand | Two live readouts, battery and liquid, on one screen. No guessing whether tonight is the night it dies | The screen is electronics inside a throwaway. Treat it as a convenience, not a guarantee, and the occasional dead pixel will not bother you |
| You run a shop and restock on demand | Fifty flavours on the variation list means a shelf that looks full without special ordering | The flavour count is the most disputed figure in this whole category. Order from our list, not from a number printed elsewhere |
| You draw hard and want big clouds | A 0.8 ohm mesh gives a firm, full draw and the flavour carries well into the fill | This is built for a tight, steady mouth-to-lung draw. If you want open, high-volume draws, a different class of device will serve you better |
| You want to choose your own strength | 2 % nicotine salt, stated plainly on this listing with no ambiguity | This listing carries one strength. Other versions of the box exist in other strengths, so check that 2 % is what you want before ordering here |
| You want the smallest thing in your pocket | The flat base stands up on a desk and the shell is slim enough for a jacket | It is not a pen. If low profile matters more than capacity, the smaller 12K sticks are the better answer |
What our own sheet does not settle
Three practical questions come up before every order, and our listing has no answer for any of them. Rather than borrow a figure from a page that copied another page, here is what we know and what you should do about it.
| Open point | Why it matters | How to handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Whether the airflow can be adjusted | It is the difference between a draw you tune and a draw you accept. One retail page describes a control ring; the independent hands-on report says there is none | Assume a fixed, tight draw. If you need adjustable airflow as a condition of buying, ask us before ordering and we will check the batch in the warehouse |
| How long a charge takes | It decides whether the box is usable on a commute. Retailers quote anything from forty-five minutes to an hour, and neither figure is on our sheet | Plan a charging window rather than a time. A low cell topped up overnight or at a desk is ready when you are |
| The physical dimensions | One retail page gives a measurement that does not match the proportions apparent in photographs of the device, so we are not repeating it | Judge the size from the photographs and the description above. If it has to fit a specific pocket or display stand, ask us and we will measure one for you |
Questions that come up before an order
What should I do if it arrives faulty?
Contact us before you use it, with the flavour and the batch details from the box. A device that will not charge or will not fire needs to be reported in that state, because once a fill is part-used we cannot tell a dead cell from a spent one.
Why does the flavour change towards the end of the fill?
The blend does not change. What changes is how much liquid is left for the mesh to draw on, and a wick that is nearly dry tastes thinner and slightly sharper than a soaked one. That is normal across the whole fill and not a sign of a bad batch.
Does the flavour strength differ between the 2 % version and other strengths?
The flavour blend is the same across strengths; only the nicotine content changes. If you have tried another strength of the same flavour and liked the taste, the 2 % version will taste the same to you.
How many of these should I keep in rotation?
Two is the practical answer for one person. A device in use and a sealed one in reserve means a low gauge never interrupts you, and the sealed box keeps its liquid fresh until you open it.
How often will I have to recharge it?
The display answers this for you after a day or two, and the honest range is roughly one charge per day of ordinary use. Heavy days will want two. Because the cell is rechargeable, the number of charges is not limited by the fill.
Does the 550 mAh cell run out before the 20 ml does?
Yes, and that is by design rather than a fault. The cell is sized for a day of use, the reservoir is sized for weeks, so the box is meant to be topped up with charge several times over the life of one fill. An independent test-style report describes needing a recharge after roughly five hundred to six hundred draws, which is a battery cycle and not the end of the liquid.
Stocking the Fumot Digital Box 12K: carton data and trade terms
For shops and resellers, the commercial facts are on our own sheet and are worth printing before you plan a shelf or a shipment.
Carton and shipping figures
A master carton holds 200 pieces and weighs approximately 18 kg, with carton dimensions of 69.1 x 32 x 23.8 cm. The box stacks squarely, so it stores in a back room without a special rack. Both the weight and the dimensions are manufacturer carton figures, and they are the numbers to use when you cost freight.
Ordering, dispatch and terms
We dispatch from our EU warehouse, which keeps delivery times inside the union short and avoids a long wait on restock. Flavour and strength are chosen per line at checkout, and the ordering desk will confirm stock against the variation list on this page before a shipment is packed. Carton quantities, mixed-flavour cartons, repeat schedules and private-label enquiries are all handled by the same desk; send the flavour split you need and we will quote the carton around it. We do not publish a price here because tiers move with volume and with the batch in stock – the ordering desk confirms it directly, and every carton is checked before it leaves the warehouse. Ask the same desk for the wider EU warehouse range if you are building a mixed order.
