Forty millilitres and a 650 mAh cell: two weeks of notes on the Crystal Star 60K

Two weeks ago the Crystal Star 60K landed on my desk beside a 10K device I was part-way through testing, and the difference in how often I reached for each one is what turned into these notes. I have drawn on it roughly two hundred times a day since, and charged it fourteen times. That is the whole character of this device in one line: a very large tank, a small cell, and a screen that keeps you honest about both.

What follows is in the order I would want it if I were buying. How long the liquid really lasts. Whether the device suits you at all. The specification with the consequence of each figure written next to it. What you can change and what you cannot. How to charge it without wearing the port out. Which of the twelve flavours to start with. What the screen does not measure. Then the questions we are asked, and the delivery details. Where our own listing and the rest of the market disagree, I say so rather than quietly quoting the better-sounding number.

How long 40 ml actually lasts, and why 60,000 is a ceiling rather than a schedule

The 60,000 figure comes off a machine. It is produced by drawing a three-second puff once every thirty seconds until the liquid runs out — an endurance test run the same way across the industry, which is exactly what makes it useful for comparing one device against another. It is not a forecast for your week, because the same tank emptied through longer and slower draws gives up its liquid sooner. Divide 40 ml by 60,000 and you get under a thousandth of a millilitre per draw, which is shallower than anyone actually draws.

So the table below is built from draws per day rather than from the number on the box. The first column is what I would honestly expect for you, the second is what I measured on my own device, and the third is the part no specification sheet prints: how often the 650 mAh cell sends you looking for a cable.

Draws a day Weeks the 40 ml covers Charging events in that time
Around 100 Eight to twelve weeks A charge every day or two, so roughly forty to fifty-five across the life of one device
Around 200 Four to seven weeks About one charge a day, thirty to forty-five in total
Around 300 Two to four weeks One or two charges a day, twenty-five to forty in total
Long, slow draws all day The bottom of whichever range above fits you The busiest end of every figure in this column

Two consequences are worth knowing before you buy. The cell is the smaller half of this device: 650 mAh in front of 40 ml means you will plug it in while there is still liquid in the tank, usually more than once a week, and that is the trade this model asks for rather than a fault in it. And because the tank is sealed, running low is not something you can put right by topping up. The screen exists so that neither of those takes you by surprise.

Who this suits, and who should buy something smaller

A sealed 40 ml device is a genuinely poor purchase for one kind of buyer, and I would rather say so here than have you discover it in week two.

Suits you if Choose something smaller if Why
You are tired of replacing a small device every few days You want something that disappears into a shirt pocket At around 120 g this is a jacket or bag device; the 10K class is the pocket answer
You want one flavour settled for weeks at a time You change flavour or strength through the day The tank is sealed at the factory, so that decision is made at checkout rather than afterwards
You are happy to plug a device in daily and want to see the level first Charging anything irritates you 650 mAh behind 40 ml makes regular charging part of the deal rather than an accident
You want the taste to still be right in week four You move on the moment a flavour fades The 0.9 ohm mesh coil is built for a long tank; a small disposable is cheaper to walk away from
You stock a shelf and want one line covering fruit, ice and something unusual You want to fill a tank or change a coil yourself Nothing here is serviceable, by design

Inside our own range, two UZY models sit either side of this one. The Crystal 4-in-1 100K adds switchable flavours in a heavier body, and the smaller single-flavour models on the UZY brand page are the lighter commitment if you are still working out what you like. Against the other 60K models we list, the Crystal Star’s case rests on the coil and the screen rather than on the headline count, which is much the same across the class. If a right-hand box above describes you, tell us when you order and we will point you at something smaller — a more useful answer than a device you resent carrying.

The specification, and what each figure changes in use

Every figure in this table is the published value for the model as we list it. The third column is the part a specification sheet leaves out: what the number changes once the device is in your hand.

Especificación Our figure What it changes in use
Draw count Up to 60,000 A manufacturer figure from a machine test: compare models with it, do not plan a month around it
E-líquido 40 ml, sealed at the factory The reason the device lasts, and the reason it cannot be topped up
Batería 650 mAh, rechargeable Small next to 40 ml, so charging is routine rather than occasional
Cargando Type-C port in the base, around 45 minutes A standard USB supply is enough; a more powerful one will not beat that figure
Bobina 0.9 ohm mesh More heated surface than a single strip, which is where a steady taste across a long tank comes from
Pantalla Screen showing battery and liquid level You see a charge coming instead of reading a blinking light
Sabores 12 One line covers fruit, ice and something unusual, which matters if you keep a shelf
Strengths 0% / 2% / 3% / 5% Four options rather than one fixed value
Peso Approximately 120 g per piece Jacket or bag rather than shirt pocket
Box 10 pieces, one flavour and strength per box How the units are packed, which is worth knowing before you order more than one
Carton 160 pieces, approximately 17 kg gross Sixteen boxes to a carton, heavy enough that you will want a second pair of hands

How the mesh coil behaves, and how much of it you control

The first ten minutes with a sealed device

Unwrap it, stand it upright for a minute so the liquid reaches the wick evenly, then check that the screen wakes when you draw. Keep the first few draws short. A device that has spent a week in transit wants that minute, and it is the difference between a clean first taste and a dry one.

How you draw is the only control you have

There is no airflow control on our listing, and I would rather say that plainly than sell you a feature I cannot confirm. Some listings for this model advertise adjustable airflow; if that is genuinely the deciding feature for you, ask us before you order and we will look at the unit in front of us rather than repeat somebody else’s specification sheet. What you can change is the draw itself, and it moves this device more than anything else. Short, steady draws keep the wick fed. Long, hard ones pull liquid faster than any mesh can replace it.

What the coil does between the first week and the fourth

Our listing states a 0.9 ohm mesh coil; the market is split between describing this model as dual mesh and as quad mesh, and the resistance is the figure that actually changes how a device vapes. The purpose of the extra heated surface is evenness rather than power. A single hot strip scorches the middle of the wick first, and that is where the flat, tired taste in the second half of a large device usually starts. Spread across more surface, the same liquid is heated more gently, so the flavour in week four stays closer to the flavour in week one. You notice it most in the week when a cheaper high-capacity device begins to disappoint.

Charging the 650 mAh cell, and looking after the port

Why your charge time moves around

UZY quotes around 45 minutes for a full charge and mine has landed between forty and fifty-five depending on what I plugged it into, so treat 45 as a good average rather than a stopwatch figure. Four things move it: the supply, the cable, the state of the port and how warm the device is. The last stretch of any charge is deliberately slow, so a powerful charger buys you very little.

If this happens, do this instead

Situation Why it matters What to do instead
It has spent an afternoon in a hot car Heat thins the liquid and ages the cell faster than anything else you can do to it Let it come back to room temperature before you charge it or draw on it
It has been carried on its side in a bag Liquid settles into the air path and the draw starts to gurgle Stand it upright for a few minutes before use, and store it upright between sessions
The only charger to hand is a laptop or a fast phone plug The device expects a modest supply and will not fill any faster from a big one Use a standard USB port or a basic plug; the charge curve is the limit, not the supply
There is liquid around the port Moisture at the port is one of the commonest reasons a device stops accepting a charge Wipe the base, check the port is clear of lint, then charge
You charge it overnight out of habit Nothing is gained, and the port sees more wear than it needs to Charge it while you are awake and unplug it when the screen reads full
The taste has gone burnt and stayed burnt Once the wick is scorched, resting it and recharging it will not bring the flavour back Slow the pace between draws; if it stays burnt, the device has reached the end of its life

The 12 flavours, and which one I would start with

Flavour names tell you very little on their own, so the table groups all twelve by the kind of taste they are rather than alphabetically. This is the order I would let somebody work through them.

Taste family Which of the 12 Start here if
Berry and orchard Blueberry Raspberry, Mixed Berries, Strawberry Watermelon, Two Apple You want one flavour for a whole day without it turning tiring
Citrus and tropical Lemon Lime, Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava Sweetness wears you out quickly and you want a clean finish
Iced fruit Blueberry Ice, Peach Ice, Grape Ice, Watermelon Ice, Cherry Cola Ice You want the fruit with a cold edge on the finish, or you are stocking a shelf that has to sell
The odd one out Love66 You are bored of straight fruit and want something you cannot place immediately

If you are ordering a single device to try, take Love66. It is the only one of the twelve that does not taste like a variation of the fruit beside it, so it tells you fastest whether this range is for you; and if you would rather not gamble on an unusual flavour, Peach Ice is the safest of the twelve and the one I have seen the least indifference to. Every flavour is available at 0%, 2%, 3% or 5%, and the strength does not change the taste, so those are two separate decisions.

What the screen measures, and what this device is not

The level reading is a calculation, not a measurement

The screen is the reason a 650 mAh cell is tolerable in a body this size, and it is also the part most often described wrongly. The battery figure comes from cell voltage translated into a percentage, so it steps down in stages rather than sliding smoothly. The droplet level is worked out from how much has been drawn, not read from a float sitting in the tank, so it moves in jumps. Treat it as a trend and it will keep you out of trouble; treat it as a fuel gauge and it will annoy you.

What the screen shows What it actually measures What to do about it
Battery percentage Cell voltage, translated into a figure that steps down rather than gliding Treat the last quarter as the cue to plug in, not as a countdown
Liquid level, with the droplet icon An estimate calculated from how much has been drawn, not a reading of what remains Watch the direction it moves across a few days rather than the number on any one day
Wake on draw A draw sensor, which is also what tells the device to fire If it stops waking, check the air path and the port before you assume the cell is flat

What this device is not

It is rechargeable rather than refillable. The 40 ml tank is sealed, so when the liquid is gone the device is finished even if the cell still holds charge. It is not a pocket device at around 120 g. The coil cannot be replaced and nothing inside it is meant to be opened. Our listing also does not state an airflow control, so if a tight or a loose draw is the deciding feature for you, ask before you order rather than assuming that a specification you saw elsewhere applies to the unit we send.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

What exactly arrives when I order one?

One pre-filled, pre-charged device in the flavour and strength you selected. No cable, no spare coil and no separate liquid; any standard Type-C cable you already own will charge it.

Can I use any Type-C cable I have at home?

Yes. What matters is the supply behind it rather than the brand of the cable, though a cable that has lived in a bag for a year is a common reason a charge drags on past the 45 minutes quoted.

How long does a single charge last?

Roughly a day of ordinary use at around 200 draws a day, and noticeably less if your draws are long. The percentage on the screen is the practical answer: treat the last quarter as the cue to plug in and you will rarely be caught out.

Does the screen still read clearly outdoors?

Indoors it is bright and easy. In direct summer sunlight the panel washes out and you will find yourself cupping it or stepping into the shade, which is a limitation of this kind of screen rather than of this model alone.

What should I do if a unit arrives leaking or dead?

Stop there and contact us before you use it or charge it, with your order number and a photograph of the device and its packaging. A unit that will not wake, will not accept a charge, or arrives with liquid loose in the bag is a transit or factory fault, not something you should try to repair yourself.

Is this a sensible first device?

Only if you already know you will use it consistently. It commits a large tank and a single flavour to one sealed unit, and something smaller is a kinder way to find out what you like; that makes this a better second purchase than a first one.

How do I tell that a unit is genuine?

Check the seal, check that the screen wakes on your first draw, check that no liquid has escaped into the packaging, and check that the printed capacity matches the figures on this page. If any of those is wrong, talk to us before you use it.

Delivery, service, and the trade order

What happens after you order

Orders are dispatched from our European warehouse and normally arrive within three to seven working days, with a tracking reference sent once the parcel leaves. If you need a device for a particular date, ask before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it will make it. UZY is the manufacturer: the figures on this page are their published values, and wherever a number comes from my own use rather than from a specification sheet, the page says so.

Trade packing

For shops and stalls, the Crystal Star 60K is packed ten pieces to a box, one flavour and strength per box, and 160 pieces to a carton at roughly 17 kg gross. Sixteen boxes to a carton means it stacks and palletises without special handling, and there is no minimum order if you would rather try a single box first.

What to confirm before a trade order

Three things are worth settling before you commit: the flavour split you want per box, since a box carries one flavour across ten units; how many cartons you need, because that is where weight and freight actually sit; and which strengths you want held, because 0% and 2% move differently from 5% in most markets. Tell us those three and you will get a straight answer rather than a generic quote.

Two things to be plain about. Pricing is set in the cart and confirmed by us before dispatch, so this page quotes no figure that could go stale; and once a shipment has left the warehouse we do not take it back, which is why a fault is handled by contacting us straight away with a photograph rather than by sending goods to us. Settle both of those in your own mind before ordering and everything else is straightforward.
